WACE is proud to present this Institute on Global and Experiential Education. The Institute is designed for teams of three to eight people, and we encourage you and your team to apply for the July 12-16, 2010 session.


The Institute is designed for teams of three to eight people to develop a strategic plan that strengthens the team’s efforts in advancing student success through a range of specially tailored global and experiential education programs. Teams may be involved at any stage, from planning new programs to innovative advancement of ongoing programs. By participating in the Institute as a team, you will develop a plan that builds on multiple perspectives and galvanizes a shared vision for implementation.

Our work with your team begins with pre-Institute consultations and includes intensive work with your team during the Institute and follow-up consultations after the institute. (Schools considering a team outside the range of three to eight participants are encouraged to consult with the Program Director, Richard Porter, by phone at 617.373.5635 or by e-mail at The registration fee for the Institute includes pre-Institute consultations and the option of a pre-Institute site visit by a Faculty Member to your school (in North America).

  • Features for your team at the Institute include the following:
    A curriculum shaped through pre-Institute consultations to address your specific goals and challenges
  • An Institute Facilitator to work exclusively with your team in developing your plan and implementation strategies
  • Interaction with other teams and Institute Faculty to discuss best practices and research at their institutions, and to discuss and evaluate your plan as it evolves during the Institute
  • Consultations with Institute Faculty to address specific challenges in global and experiential education at your school
  • Final presentation of your plan followed by discussion and feedback from all Institute participants


The price of $2,500 per person includes the option of a pre-Institute site visit by an Institute Faculty Member to your school (in North America.) If your school is located outside of North America, the Institute Staff will accommodate your request for a site visit to the best of our ability, as WACE has 38 Governors from 16 countries whom we could call on for assistance.

The price of $2,500 also includes lodging for four nights; tuition; team facilitator(s); consultations with Institute Faculty; most meals (continental breakfasts, lunches, opening night cookout, a New England clambake); and a post-Institute phone consultation.

A $500 nonrefundable deposit is required per person upon acceptance into the Institute. The deposit will be applied to your registration fee. All registrations are nonrefundable but can be transferred to other members of your institution.
