| Developing International Work-Integrated Learning
Presenter: Rick Reeve.
This interactive, one-day workshop follows the Guide For Developing International Coop Programs first published in 1997 and now in its second printing by WACE. Participants discuss the 8 most common models of international coop programming in use, and discover the advantages and disadvantages of implementing each one. Also discussed are the most important issues faced by institutions offering international coop programs. These include:
- student selection and preparation
- finding employers
- matching students with jobs
- work permits
- and more...
This workshop is designed to foster discussion and collaboration between the delegates. When held in conjunction with international conferences the workshop generates a very healthy level of problem-solving from an international perspective. (Here is an example of the schedule of this workshop held in Thailand in 2001 )
